Today is the release date of Katie Mettner’s latest book, Dark Endings! To disclose, I had the opportunity to read this book as an E-ARC in January. I highly recommend this book as a quick, intriguing read! I couldn’t put it down because I had to know how it ended, mystery-wise (I knew that there would be a relatively happy ending as it is also a romance.)
“
Grace is a (reluctantly psychic) detective. She solves cold cases. She write under a pseudonym on the side. Now, after a case gone wrong, she is an amputee at loose ends. She still feels like and thinks like a detective, but feels that now that she was not working for the police department that was not supportive of her, she can perhaps take her writing full-time. However, that is not to be! While on a writers’ retreat, she is walking on the nearby beach, with her crutches for stability, and she discovers a body. She starts working with the local Sherriff, Ewan, to solve the sudden rash of murders in the small seaside town.
This is another good disability representation book by Mettner. As I have said before, I discovered her books while looking for “disability romance” two years ago when I wanted something light, but representational as well, to read.
This book is available on Amazon, but if you don’t wish to patronize that site, then it is available to purchase in hard copy directly from the author. It is currently sold out, but more will be available soon! https://www.katiemettner.com/store/p1/DE_PB.html
I have a signed copy on the way. In this climate, it is important to support independent authors who have long used the site mentioned above to make their books available out in the world. Being able to order this book in this way is a wonderful option for the author to offer.
